FIFTH WEEK Of My On the-Job-Training

FEBRUARY 27 -MARCH 3, 2023

FIFTH WEEK | First Day

MARCH 27

Taken February 27, 2023: Proper Sorting of Used Papers: Categorization into Legal, Letter, and A4 Sizes Required

During the course of this week, it has unfortunately been the case that I have only been able to undertake one day of work, specifically on Monday, March 27th. This was due to the fact that the next day, Tuesday, was marked as a holiday in celebration of the Fiesta in Cagsawa. As a result, the office and classes in all Daraga Campus were closed, and therefore it was not feasible for me to carry out any work or tasks on this day.

Moreover, on another day during the week, I was beset by a severe stomach ache which rendered me unable to attend work for a period of three days, specifically from Thursday through to Friday. As can be imagined, this was quite frustrating for me, given that I missed out on almost 24 hours of my OJT work, the completion of which requires 486 total hours of work.

Despite these setbacks, I made the most out of my time on Monday and worked on the task that was assigned to me. My task was to sort out the used papers in the office, which were piling up and needed to be sorted out according to their sizes such as legal, letter, and A4. Additionally, I was tasked with separating papers that only had writing or print on one side, but were clear on the other side. The reason behind this was that these papers would be reused as scratch papers, where drafts of research papers and other documents could be printed for checking. Moreover, I had to separate damaged or torn papers, as they could not be put back into the printer for reuse.

As part of the sorting process, I also had to remove all the staples attached to the papers to ensure that they would not cause any problems when put back into the printer. Although the task may seem simple, it required careful attention to detail to ensure that all papers were sorted properly and could be used efficiently. I am pleased to note that despite the office having an adequate supply of papers, they choose to recycle papers. This practice is not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly.

Despite the limited time I spent on my OJT work this week, I still made sure to complete the assigned task to the best of my abilities. I look forward to getting back to my regular schedule next week and making up for the lost hours.
