EIGHTH WEEK Of My On the-Job-Training

MARCH 20 -MARCH 26, 2023

EIGHTH WEEK | First Day to Fourth Day

MARCH 20 - MARCH 23

Throughout the course of the week, a significant portion of our time was dedicated to capturing footage for the Bicol University Open University (BUOU) CHED Hybrid/Virtual Visiting Presentation Video. This informative presentation aims to showcase various aspects of the institution, including its background, programs offered, enrollment data, achievements, student services, organizations, facilities, and other pertinent information. The pressure was high, as the video is set to be presented during the CHED visit, making accuracy and presentability major concerns.

To ensure that we captured the essence of the institution accurately, we strictly followed the script that was provided to us. We were given ample time for the recording to guarantee that no detail was overlooked, and the video lasts for at least 15 to 20 minutes, which is quite long in duration. To extend the clip's length further, we even captured some adlib material. In the process, we utilized one DSLR camera and one SLR camera, as well as a phone, tripod, and video stabilizer/gimbal to maintain a consistent level of quality throughout.

As we approach Friday, we have compiled all the footage that we have captured and are now prepared to begin the video editing process. With our careful attention to detail and the use of high-quality equipment, we are confident that the final product will accurately reflect the essence of the BUOU, and meet the expectations of the CHED.

EIGHTH WEEK | Fourth Day to Weekend Work

MARCH 24 - MARCH 26

Upon compiling the footage, our team proceeded with a careful selection process to identify the best quality shots among the alternatives. However, we encountered a challenge when it came to video editing since the all-in-one PCs available in the office were not sufficiently robust to handle the heavy editing requirements.

In light of this, we submitted a request to work from home, where we had access to more powerful workstations that were better equipped for the task at hand. Thankfully, our request was granted, and we were able to commence editing without delay. I began the process by running video stabilization on every shaky clip using Adobe Premiere before proceeding with video editing using both Adobe Premiere and Filmora X.

Despite our best efforts, we encountered some slowdowns and technical hiccups along the way, as the editing process was particularly demanding on our equipment. Nevertheless, we pressed on and made significant progress before the weekend, aiming to achieve at least 50% of the total editing work before our supervisor's review.
